Who will be affected by BSL?
Legislators would like you to think that only irresponsible dog owners will be affected by BSL.
Sadly, this is not true.
Rarely are dog laws written that address the underlying issue: the irresponsible or reckless dog owner.
When a breed is to be restricted, all owners of the breed will be affected - REGARDLESS OF HOW RESPONSIBLE THEY ARE OR NOT! The ultimate goal behind BSLs is the elimination of specific breeds or types of dogs. And for some, the elimination of companion dogs as a whole...
The Scarier side of BSL - the agenda of many
BSL has an even scarier undertone: many animal rights extremist groups are backing BSL. Why?
Ban one breed and it is a gateway to others. Eventually, they can get all dogs restricted and reach their ultimate goal of no domestic dogs at all for companionship or as working partners.
If the most visible minority of dogs (those being made into dangerous animals) are first targeted, it makes their agenda all the easier in the long run...
If you are still not convinced - on April 27, 2007, PeTA released a memo calling for the elimination of pit bulls in Dorcester, CO, SC. “PETA is asking the Dorchester County Council to ban the acquisition of pit bulls and strictly regulate grandfathered ownership of pit bulls currently living in homes.”
